blackbyrd shares refreshing two-pack ‘Lo-Fidelity’ (ft. Mick Jenkins)

Massachusetts artist blackbyrd has shared a new two-pack called ‘Lo-Fidelity’. Boasting a vibrant, diverse sound palette as well as sharp verses from blackbyrd and a potent feature from Mick Jenkins, ‘Lo-Fidelity’ shines with its versatility and genre-bending style. Following up blackbyrd’s well-received album ‘Shoegaze for Black Kids’, which found him experimenting with indie, hip-hop, shoegaze and more to cohesive effect, ‘Lo-Fidelity’ continues to showcase his dynamic, outside-the-box songwriting with its two tracks “Black Twitter Remix” and “Vibin’”.

“Black Twitter Remix”, featuring Mick Jenkins, takes on a more hip-hop oriented tone with its raw flows, soulful production, and boom-bap percussion. It finds blackbyrd and Jenkins sharp as they trade focused, lyrically rich verses back and forth. The second song, “Vibin’” brings in engaging indie and shoegaze influences, merging them with R&B flourishes for a layered and immersive offering.
