Hailing from Philly, indie-rock-pop band CLOAKS are making a name for themself with their latest single, “This Is It,” from their forthcoming album, Control Program set to release 8/23/24 via Mint 400 Records.

Led by singer and lead guitarist, Zac Ciancaglini, Cloaks is composed of talented individuals such as bassist Tony Aqullino, drummer Greg Foran, guitarist James Keary and keyboardist S. Catoe. The band bridges the gap between diverse genres and blends elements of shoegaze and indie-folk; CLOAKZ crafts a fanciful yet impactful sound that resonates with listeners on their debut LP, Control Program. The album spans eight varied yet distinctive tracks that showcase their dynamic range.

On the album’s latest single, “This Is It,” the song takes listeners on a sonic journey that starts off light and airy and gradually builds into a powerful and blissful climax. The rhythm section kicks in, driving the song forward while adding layers of sound and intensity. The lead singer, Ciancaglini, delivers his deep baritone vocals, expressing conflicting desires with the lyrics.

"I want out / You want in / In this place / no one wins." The song then launches into a sweeping chorus, as Ciancaglini resigns himself to his position with the words "I got no fight / She’s all I’ll give / I don’t know what you’re thinking / but my baby this is it."

The track concludes with an instrumental section that takes the listener on a thrilling journey through the band’s impressive guitar work. Overall, “This Is It” showcases the band’s mastery of building tension and releasing it through a dynamic arrangement and solid vocals.
