Pastel Blank shares engaging new song and video “Shareholder”

Victoria, Canada artist Pastel Blank has dropped off a new song and video, titled “Shareholder”. A sharply-crafted, focused release with vibrant sonics and thoughtful messaging, “Shareholder” makes for a refreshing blend of art-rock and funk that tantalizes with its hypnotic, colorful songwriting. Atop rich guitar stabs and a grooving, infectious rhythm section, he shines with a series of silky smooth melodies containing emotive undertones.

Topically, the song was initially inspired by the Sackler/ Purdue Pharma lawsuits in 2020. The song asks- in looking at some of the cogs and gears in a machine that has produced the opioid crisis. Where does the conscience lie?

A strong new release from the Canadian artist overall, “Shareholder” finds him continuing his rise within the Victoria music scene and beyond, with a vivid new offering that blends genres cohesively.

Check out the expressive, colorful new visual for “Shareholder” below, which finds Pastel Blank expanding engagingly upon the themes in the track.
