Tristan release 6-song debut EP ‘Nomad’

Tristan has now shared his debut EP ‘Nomad’. After the release of his first three well-received singles “She”, “Bring You”, and “The City”, Tristan has now released his debut EP ‘Nomad’, a refreshing set of 6 songs that pairs influences from an array of genres.

The 21 year-old Atlanta native began playing drums at the age of 8, and by the end of high school had already dived head first into producing and recording. After dropping out of college and moving to Los Angeles in August 2021, he has found himself in situations he used to only dream of. He’s currently the tour drummer for BabyJake, actively learning from established producers, and performing his own shows, all the while rapidly carving a space for himself in the industry. For his latest project, he delivers an infectious EP that flirts with alt-pop, alternative R&B, rock, and more, taking the listener on a sonic journey through both light and dark, and expansive and claustrophobic spaces.

EP opener “She” starts off the project in an energizing manner, with bright guitars drifting atop a sturdy rhythm section, as Tristan kicks off the release strong vocally with a series of infectious melodies. “Bring You” flirts with electronica, as shimmering synths meld with crisp, clattering percussion that creates an airy yet powerful soundscape. Tracks like “Reckless” bring in a more fierce sound, drawing influence from rock with distorted guitars and driving percussion. Here, Tristan ups the energy vocally and instrumentally and provides enticing dynamics that draw the listener deeply into these song’s layered feel. The EP culminates on a high note with “Tape”, which is emotive and poignant, expressing feelings of longing with dream-like synths and graceful, focused lyricism.

The latest from Atlanta native Tristan, Nomad makes for a refreshing listen and has us excited for what may be coming next from him, as he shows lyrical prowess and a versatile ability to engage with a variety of genres.
