SPIN Magazine Announces Top 25 Rock Acts of the 2000s Most Likely to Enter Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
As classic rock bands continue to be honored in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the opportunities for newer bands to secure spots seem to grow in uncertainty. Speculating on their likelihood of future induction, SPIN Magazine assessed and ranked their top 25 rock acts of the 2000s.
The countdown encompassed a diverse range of rock subgenres, spanning from garage rock revival acts like The Strokes and the Arctic Monkeys to radio-friendly pop-rock bands such as Coldplay, Maroon 5, and Imagine Dragons. Also included on the list were heavier-sounding bands like Paramore, Evanescence, and Gojira.
Interestingly enough, key bands that were left off the list include the likes of Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, and the White Stripes (although that’s not a criticism of the list). But of course, no rankings list is complete without the disapproval of fans who’s favorite bands have been left off. What are your thoughts on their listing?
