Brooke Williams shares ethereal offering, “happy 4 you” [Video]
Los Angeles-based artist Brooke Williams has shared a new release called “happy 4 you”, complete with a fresh visual shot by Andrew & Laura with Good X Studios. Williams, who was discovered after her first release by Snafu Records, previously collaborated with acclaimed songwriters and producers such as Carl Falk (Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding) and Albin Nedler (Avicii, Martin Garrix, One Direction). Together, they wrote Brooke’s debut single “Art of Pretending,” released through Arista Records, which was chosen as Bop of the Week on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio. Her latest release “happy 4 you” marks another sharply-written, evocative offering for Williams, whose growing discography contains a number of vibrant, genre-bending releases.
“happy 4 you”’s instrumentation is emotive and expansive, creating a strong foundation for Williams’ atmospheric vocal performance. The production is immersive, featuring an ambient soundscape that builds with layers of keys, synths, and effects. Vocally, Williams shines as she delivers memorable, emotive melodies across her verses, before delving into a powerful chorus. The accompanying visual enhances the song’s moody, mysterious feel as well, with subdued lighting and raw, textural shots, paired with an engaging performance from Williams that adds a performative counterpart to the track.
The latest from LA-based artist Brooke Williams, “happy 4 you” marks another expansive, versatile release among her growing discography.
